SNV Annual Review - Connect 2015
SNV has been present in West and Central Africa since the opening of our offices in Cameroon (1963) and the Democratic Republic of Congo (2006), from where we spearhead forest-environment sector interventions. Our activities in Congo-Brazzaville are managed from our DR Congo office.
We provide implementation support for five climate change projects in Congo-Brazzaville, funded by the Congo Basin Forest Fund (CBFF) of the African Development Bank (AfDB). We are also involved with the Tri-national Trust Fund Foundation to establish sustainable mechanisms for managing a network of contiguous protected areas spanning Cameroon, Congo-Brazzaville and the Central African Republic.
In 2011, we supported the execution of projects in other countries of the Congo Basin within the framework of the CBFF. In 2013, we expanded our presence to include an active involvement in the execution of the Support Programme for the Conservation of Forest Ecosystems of the Congo Basin (PACEBCo).
