The Hague, 3 July 2017 – The WASH SDG Consortium - WASH Alliance International (WAI), Plan Netherlands and SNV - has been granted € 59 million by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs to deliver sustainable access to improved sanitation and hygiene and safe drinking water to 2 million and 450,000 people respectively, over a 5 year period.
The WASH SDG Consortium will ensure that facilities and services are sustainable, climate resilient, gender sensitive and socially inclusive. The Consortium also commits to ensure that for every euro invested, one euro is contributed locally, through for instance investments by local households and governments, aligning the programme with the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs WASH policy 2016-2030 Contributing to water, sanitation and hygiene for all, forever.
