The first International Opportunities for Youth Employment Conference 2019, Making markets work for youth, will be held 17-18 October in Bamako, Mali. Please save the date in your calendar. More details will be shared as soon as possible.
We are pleased to inform our valued partners that SNV, in consortium with ICCO Cooperation, WASTE and APEJ, thanks to the partnerships with the European Union, will host on 17 and 18 October 2019 in Mali our first International Conference on Youth Employment Opportunities 2019, with the theme "Boosting Youth Access to the Labour Market".
The key objective of the conference is to create a platform to dialogue between the young people in the region, policy makers, donors and the private sector on opportunities for youth employment, job creation and its impact on economic prosperity. This also, is an opportunity to share what SNV is learning in the youth employment space since the beginning of our OYE programmes in 2013. The Opportunities for Youth Employment (OYE) approach has had its first implementation in Mozambique, Rwanda and Tanzania in partnership with Mastercard Foundation and has provided (self-) employment for an estimated 25,000 young people (with 40% young women) between 2013-2018. OYE is currently live in several other countries, including Mali, Niger and Ethiopia.
We request that you kindly save the dates. More information on the conference agenda, venue and other related details will be communicated in due course.
Thank you for your continued support and collaboration. We look forward to hosting you in Mali.
With very best wishes,
Managing Director, Energy and Youth
