Funded by the International Association Development (IDA), the government of the Democratic Republic of Congo has developed the 'Project to support the rehabilitation and revival of the agricultural Sector (PARRSA)'.

The objective of the project is to increase the agricultural productivity and improve the marketing of plant production and other animal products from small producers, and thus improve their income. There are 3 sub-components:

1. improved production through availing seed and extension services;

2. improving the production of rice through better management of water in Malebo Pool;

3. improving animal production.

Our approach works through financing crop and livestock production, better supervision of extension services and capacity building of producer organizations. The overall target of the project is to improve the livelihoods of almost 20,000 households by the end of 2015 in the Lisala and Kungu areas.
