Job Description
Are you looking for an internship where you can make a positive impact to a more sustainable and equitable world?
SNV is seeking a curious and analytical Contracting & Procurement (C&P) Intern who will support the advancement of SNV's contracting, procurement, compliance, and risk management processes.
- Based in The Hague, Netherlands
- Duration: 4-6 months
- 24-40 hours a week
Note: this internship is only for students that are currently registered and enrolled in an accredited Dutch University and for the duration of the internship.
The internship
As the Contracting & Procurement (C&P) Intern you will have the opportunity to learn about our organisation's governance, risk and compliance environment in SNV and you will be part of the Global Risk and Compliance Team in The Hague. This team is responsible for maintaining and improving SNV standards and operational policy and risk frameworks, as well as steering risk, support and monitoring on legal, tax, donor contracts, supplier procurement and contracting, project execution, country logistics and SNV’s Carbon Reduction Strategy.
You will work on a variety of projects and tasks that will draw on your organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage data and processes effectively. In particular, you will support the tracking and administration of procurement activities, contribute to reporting and dashboard development, as well as provide assistance with contract management and other procurement-related workflows.
Tasks and learnings

They can include the following tasks and responsibilities:
- Improve the Procurement tracker, ensuring accurate updates of key variables such as submission and completion dates (including PO creation), as well as procurement methods and thresholds (e.g., Single Source Justification, competitive processes).
- Update and manage the contract register by recording all agreements, including Framework Agreements (FWAs) and contracts with longer durations.
- Support KPI reporting by contributing to the development of dashboards that calculate and track key indicators (e.g., single source usage by area, procurement service levels, invoices without POs, percentage of non-SNV contract templates used), and provide support for country-level reporting requests.
- Assist in the rollout of the tender advertising tool (once live), ensuring smooth implementation and adoption.
- Contribute to global reporting activities, including preparation of SAP-based reports (e.g., Agrifood rosters, small-value supplier creation, etc.).
- Support the Community of Practice by following up on country-level tasks, developing templates, and promoting continuous improvement and best practices in procurement
- Contributing to knowledge management initiatives ( organize and update internal resources, guidelines, and training materials).
- Identify opportunities for improving workflows and assist in their implementation.
- Other administrative and project support tasks as required, contributing to the efficiency and accuracy of procurement and compliance processes.
Qualifications
Requirements for the internship:
- This internship is open to students currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program at an accredited Dutch university in a financial field. This should be a degree course or study.
We will require a proof of enrolment and SNV may request a short-written confirmation from the student or university if necessary. The university must facilitate the internship and a university supervisor or mentor must be identified, with full name and contact details shared with SNV. - The intern must have legal right to reside in the Netherlands for the full period of the internship, but the University can be based abroad (SNV does not sponsor visas or permits for interns).
What you will bring
- Strong proficiency in written and verbal communication skills in English, knowledge of other languages is a plus (French, Portuguese, or other languages where SNV operates).
- Experience in generating visually compelling graphs and reports that simplify complex data
- Proficiency with Excel will be an advantage
- A curious, self-motivated individual that works well in a team
- Skilled in deconstructing problems and systematically investigating its components and solutions.
- Good understanding or interest in procurement processes, supplier management, and contract administration.
- Availability for 4-6 months between 24-40 hours a week. Preferred start-date is October 2025
- It's required that you are currently registered and enrolled in an accredited Dutch University in a Bachelor or Master study in preferably in supply chain management, Procurement, Finance or Business Economics.
Additional Information
What we offer you
- Internship agreement for 4 to maximum of 6 months
- 24-40 hours a week (3-5 days)
- Allowance of gross €500 euros per month based on a 40-hours workweek (pro-rated to part-time hours)
- Reimbursement of public transport costs
- Desired start-date is Oct 2025, but can be discussed
