Project background

BRIDGE+ is a five-year programme (from November 2023 to December 2028) implemented by a consortium of partners composed of SNV Netherlands Development Organization (lead) and Wageningen University & Research (WUR and Agriterra, with the financial support from the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (EKN).

The overall objective of the BRIDGE+ programme is to contribute to a functioning dairy Value Chain that creates inclusive and sustainable benefits for all its participants, including wider society, with particular focus on smallholder farmers within the mixed farming system. To attain this objective, the project will operate at three levels: (1) smallholder farmers: increase benefits from dairy farming; (2) dairy value chain: improving functioning and food safety; and (3) at sector level: strengthening institutional structure.

Overview

The Data Entry and Management Intern serve as a support resource for the BRIDGE+ team, primarily responsible for assisting with data collection; cleaning; organization tasks and supporting milksheds activities in relation to routine MEAL data responsibility. This role involves follow-up and coordination of timely, completed and quality data collection for project implementation tracking from 23 milksheds. The role will also involve collaboration with MEAL team in periodic data management related gap filling/coaching activities for Milkshed advisors and BRIDGE+ focal person for different component partners (Argo Input dealer, School Milk Program, Worda Focal Person etc).

This internship offers valuable exposure to milkshed advisors and relevant partners staffs who has role in BRIDGE+ data sharing to minimize back and forth communication over the data quality and completeness also work with the national MEAL team in terms evaluations happening at the 4th quarter of 2025 business enterprises evaluation (Agro Input Dealer & Cooperatives; Annual House Hold survey…) as well as the project mid-term review/evaluation facilitation process. The intern contributes to MEAL team smooth functioning of BRIDGE+ project data aggregation, analysis and timely share important evidence for decision making.

Objective of the Internship

Job Description

The Data Entry and Management Intern will be responsible for:

  • Conduct accuracy checks, identify inconsistencies, and ensure data quality standards are met.
  • Support the establishment of a routine data flow from regions to the national database.
  • Facilitate engagement of regional teams in regular data review and joint validation sessions.
  • Promote consistent use of data for performance tracking, reporting, and adaptive management.
  • Assist with data cleaning, compilation, and verification in preparation for project reporting cycles and evaluations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Information Systems, Monitoring & Evaluation, or related field.

Experience:

  • Prior experience in a similar role (short-term MEL/data support) is highly desirable.
  • Practical skills with Excel including up to date analytical tools/ technology and data handling.
  • Prior experience with data entry and management systems (experience with LogAlto or other M&E platforms is a plus).

  • Strong skills in data entry, cleaning, and quality assurance.
  • Practical skills with Excel including up to date analytical tools/ technology and data handling.
  • Good written and spoken English.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

Additional Information

Contract Type: National

Expected start date:  November 17, 2025.

Duty Station: Mekelle, Ethiopia

Contract Duration: One year contract.
