Company Description

Introduction

SNV is a mission-driven global development partner working in more than 20 countries across Africa and Asia. Building on 60 years of experience and grounded in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, we work on the core themes of gender equality and social inclusion, climate adaptation and mitigation, and strong institutions and effective governance. Together with our team of over 1,600 people, our mission is to strengthen capacities and catalyse partnerships that transform the agri-food, energy, and water systems, which enable sustainable and more equitable lives for all. For more information on SNV, visit our website: www.snv.org

In Vietnam, SNV has been active since 1995, collaborating with communities, government agencies, and businesses across more than 50 provinces, including some of the country's most remote and underserved areas. The Vietnam team comprises over 50 national and international staff dedicated to three main sectors: Agri-Food, Energy, and Water. These efforts are guided by cross-cutting themes such as Climate Adaptation and Mitigation, Gender Equality and Social Inclusion, and Strong Institutions and Effective Governance.

By integrating these interconnected areas and continuously adapting our approach, SNV aims to expand its reach and support more individuals in Vietnam and beyond to lift themselves out of poverty sustainably.

Biodiverse Landscapes Fund (BLF) is a UK government programme focused on protecting biodiversity and promoting its conservation, reducing poverty, and tackling climate change across 6 critical landscapes.

Its general activities are:

  • Improving management and linking of protected areas;
  • Creating alternative sustainable livelihoods for local communities improving their climate resilience;
  • Strengthening land rights, stewardship, and natural resource governance, as well as supporting improved planning to reduce the environmental impacts of infrastructure development;
  • Tackling illicit activities such as poaching;
  • Investment in sustainable local businesses and green finance initiatives.

A consortium led by Fauna & Flora is implementing interventions in three countries across three areas. Operating in Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam, the BLF supports 3 landscapes. The Northern landscape consists of the Yod Nam Yo national protected area in Laos and its corridor to Vietnam’s Pu Mat National Park in Nghe An Province. The central landscape of Hin Nam No National Park and its buffer zone in Khamouane province. The southern landscape of Namkong protection forest in Attapeu province, Chu Mom Ray National Park and Ngoc Linh Natural Reserve in Kon Tum province, Vietnam, and Virachey National Park in Ratanakiri and Stung Treng, Northern Cambodia.

Two consultant teams have completed value chain studies on coffee in the Northern Central Highlands and on livestock production in the North Central region of Vietnam. Both studies include value chain analyses with proposed interventions to enhance sustainable production, improve market linkages, and strengthen climate-resilient and inclusive livelihoods. The comprehensive reports have been submitted and approved.

We are seeking a consultant to edit and proofread two research reports and transform them into communications products suitable for publication on our website, ensuring full alignment with SNV and BLF writing style and messaging. The consultant will also interview selected project staff and the consultants who conducted the two value chain studies, in order to capture key findings, lessons learned, and proposed intervention contents of the two consultancy assignments. Drawing on these interviews and the reports, the consultant will prepare a blog-style article for web publication and communication materials.
