Job Description

SNV Zimbabwe is seeking for Relief Drivers based in Mutare, to support the YEE project at requested intervals. The responsibilities shall entail the following - 

Vehicle operations and Safety

  • Has responsibility for use of car, clean and fuel vehicle, check inventory (e.g. first aid kit, second tire etc.) and status of the vehicle, identify any damage and report these to supervisor, arrange and keep track of periodical service schedule and insurance

Driving

  • Drive passengers or deliver errands within the identified areas, following the traffic regulations, safety instructions and situations and based on the travel arrangements of the passengers and/or delivery requirements.

Administration

  • Keep logbook of all driving activities, fuel and any incidents and accidents. Ensure insurances and taxes of vehicles are up to date.

Additional activities

  • Execute activities to support others based on request, like assist in logistic activities, or support in maintenance of building.

Qualifications

Educational Qualification and Experience

  • 5 Ordinary Level pass and at least five years of experience as a Driver.

Additional Skills

  • Must have valid driving license and a current defensive driving certificate.
  • Technical knowledge of vehicles and basic maintenance.
  • Experience in an INGO environment is preferable.
  • Be reliable, punctual, committed and self-motivated.
