  • This disclosure notice summarises SNV’s support to Promo Fruits Benin SARL (PFB), a leading fruit processing company in Benin specialising in pineapple and natural juice production. Originating from producer cooperatives, the company has grown into one of West Africa’s key juice exporters, sourcing from nearly 5,000 smallholder farmers. With rapidly expanding processing capacity, PFB plays a central role in the country’s pineapple value chain, providing inputs, technical support, and reliable market access while creating over 300 stable jobs.

Operating in a context of increasing climate variability, water stress, and declining soil fertility, PFB faces growing challenges in securing a stable, high-quality fruit supply. The company is investing in climate-resilient production approaches, including smart irrigation, improved planting materials, and agroforestry models to strengthen productivity and reduce climate risks. At the same time, it is enhancing governance, operational systems, and environmental and social standards to support its transition into a more resilient and investment-ready agribusiness.

The project is supported by a €350,000 grant from the DFCD Origination Facility, alongside €150,000 in co-financing from the company, with €3 million in financing already approved and potential for additional investment under discussion. By strengthening climate-resilient supply chains, improving smallholder productivity, and enhancing governance and compliance systems, the project positions Promo Fruits Benin to scale sustainably while contributing to climate adaptation, inclusive growth, and long-term resilience in Benin’s agricultural sector.
