  • Abstract

Growing populations, climate change, and unsustainable resource use are threatening food security and livelihoods in vulnerable communities. SNV's Resilient Landscapes approach addresses these interconnected challenges by working at the landscape level to balance competing land use objectives and foster cross-sector collaboration. Through three core components (landscape development, innovative financing, and public-private partnerships), SNV facilitates inclusive, gender-sensitive planning processes that promote low-emission, climate-resilient land management across agriculture, livestock, forestry, and environment sectors.

By engaging diverse stakeholders and mobilising both public and private investment, SNV drives systemic transformation that strengthens ecosystem services while improving community livelihoods. Drawing on a portfolio of programmes across sub-Saharan Africa, including initiatives in the Sahel, East Africa, and Zambia, SNV's approach has demonstrably improved land governance, expanded climate-smart agricultural practices, and secured sustainable natural resource management at scale.
