Co-developing climate hero personas
Results of a partnership's application of the Q-methodology to develop personas of proactive leaders for climate-resilient WASH, promoting local leadership and capacity building in Bhutan.
Abstract
This research brief outlines the key highlights, lessons learned, and outcomes of a partnership that applied Q-methodology in a practical research and capacity-strengthening project implemented by SNV in Bhutan. The Q-methodology was utilised to co-develop the concept of a proactive leader for climate-resilient WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) from the perspective of local government participants in Bhutan. The project concluded with the creation of personas, visualised by AI-generated images using Canva. Overall, the research effectively tested this participatory tool as one of several approaches aimed at promoting proactive local leadership and enhancing capacity building.
