Kenyan horticultural value chains struggle with post-harvest food loss with 50% of produce going to waste before it reaches the consumer. This amounts to a yearly loss of approximately USD 1.1 billion. SHFs living below the poverty line bear the brunt of this loss. Sustainable energy can help to improve this situation.
