Horti-economics and the power of on-farm learning plots

This article takes a closer look at the economics of vegetable production by smallholders, arguing that a lot can be learnt from undertaking a cost benefit analysis when introducing Good Agronomic Practices (GAP) to smallholder farmers. It thereby captures the experience of HortInvest in Rwanda, a horticulture project funded by the Dutch Embassy in Kigali and implemented from December 2017 till December 2022.
