  • Abstract

In this joint report with UTS-ISF, SNV contributes to the search for effective support strategies for achieving inclusive rural sanitation. Exploring SNV rural sanitation programming in Bhutan, Cambodia, Nepal, Tanzania, and Zambia, the study begins with an overview of the literature surrounding the identification of potentially disadvantaged groups, various support mechanisms, and emerging evidence on effective practices. Following this, it describes the contextual differences across five case study countries, then examines SNV's SSH4A-related achievements and ongoing challenges—the organisation’s rural sanitation framework approach—to prompt reflection and inform future programming work.
