Since 2006 SNV has been engaged in strengthening the coffee sector in Rwanda jointly with national Agricultural Export Development Board MINAGRI. From February 2014 to 2017 February, SNV partnered with NAEB in implementing the Turnaround Program for Coffee Cooperatives Phase I and II under the PRICE project funded by IFAD
Under the two phases of TAP spanning a period of two years (2015-2017). The projects has supported 50 coffee cooperatives to improve their management, governance and business development capacities. As a result majority of them started increasing their membership base and increased the quality and quantity of coffee production and sales achieving increased income. In total the TAP programme has reached 18,295 households, including 7,796 female-headed households.
