Date and time
Date: Thursday, 2 July 2020
Time: 11:00AM – 12:30PM GMT
About the GrEEn project
The Boosting Green Employment and Enterprise Opportunities in Ghana (GrEEn) project is a 4-year action funded by the European Union through its Emergency Trust Fund for Africa.
Implemented by SNV Ghana and the UN Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) in close partnership with the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, GrEEn aims at creating jobs for over 5,000 people through the promotion of green jobs and growth of Ghana’s local, circular economy. The project will achieve this by improving skills and increasing access to finance for youth, women and returning migrants as well as Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) in the Ashanti and Western regions of Ghana.
About the webinar
As part of the inception phase of the GrEEn project, SNV Ghana undertook a survey on the agricultural sector.
The market scan gives an insight into the current happenings and trends in the agricultural sector, providing a framework on which the project’s interventions are situated. It also aims at finding gaps between employment and enterprise opportunities, particularly for youth, women and returning migrants, bringing out areas with high scalability which can be invested in.
Additionally, the market scans bring to the surface much-needed skills in the private sector as well as various private sector players in the regions of GrEEn’s implementation.
Objectives of the webinar
To present the agriculture market scan findings and validate them with relevant stakeholders in the sector
To solicit feedback on the employment and enterprise opportunities identified in the different sectors targeted by the GrEEn project
To identify other areas of green agriculture opportunities for high scalability and inclusion in the GrEEn project
