8 July: The exciting world of faecal sludge re-use - exploring turning poop into gold

On Wednesday, 8 July, join Tanzania's Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) practitioners, decision-makers and stakeholders in a discussion that will explore the possibilities and opportunities in 'turning poop into gold.' During this webinar, participants will dialogue on the 'golden nuggets' of animal feed, biomass fuels, compost and electricity/biogas.

This webinar is an urban sanitation initiative of SNV in Tanzania under its WASH SDG programme. It is being organised with the local governments of Shinyanga municipality and Arusha city. It kick-starts three days of interactive and working sessions on:

  • Day 1: National and international experiences in faecal sludge reuse (this webinar; free-for-all)

  • Day 2: Key findings of the re-use product market study conducted by the WASH SDG team (by invite)

  • Day 3: Planning next steps to explore the potential of re-use in each city (by invite) (Arusha and Shinyanga)
