“In a world marked by heightened competition, fragmentation, and geopolitical fracturing, it is vital that we build the collaborations and partnerships that can contribute to accelerating progress towards sustainable and more equitable outcomes,” said Simon O’Connell, CEO, SNV.

With a commitment to making a meaningful contribution to systems transformation running across the breadth of our work, we are inspired by the principles and objectives set forth by the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Our Annual Report reflects this, driven by the strength of deep-rooted partnerships and locally-led approaches.

Through reinforced collective efforts, ongoing learning, and adapting to new realities, we remain committed to building on the important impacts that we've been able to contribute to over this past year.Simon O'Connell, CEO, SNV

Together with our partners, we helped expand access to rights and essential services, strengthen resilience to the climate crisis, support inclusive livelihoods, and empower people and businesses. Across Asia and Africa, this includes:

  • Over three million people gained access to clean energy.

  • Close to a million smallholder farmers improved incomes through regenerative agriculture, renewable energy, and water-smart practices.

  • Over one million people gained access to improved water and sanitation.

And behind the numbers are signs that systems are beginning to shift.

Technological advances, improved infrastructure, and innovative practices have offered real opportunities to support more inclusive and accelerated adaptation. In Benin, for instance, stakeholders came together to test early flood warning systems in support of 86 communities. Simultaneously, close to half a million people we and our partners are working with have begun adopting climate-resilient land practices.

Alongside these, growing youth leadership, stronger civic participation, and efforts to elevate diverse voices—are all part of the systems shaping change. In Burkina Faso, youth and women’s participation in citizen consultation frameworks surged by 72%. And in Indonesia, a financial alliance between Forest Carbon and DFCD has taken root to restore critical ecosystems.

These examples—and many more—reflect what is possible when collective action is anchored in trust and purpose.

As we look to 2025 and beyond, our commitment remains unchanged: to deliver impact that matter—together.
