Counting down to COP27
SNV will join the debate at the upcoming UN Climate Change Conference, COP27, which will be held in Egypt from 6-18 November. This year's event will focus on developing greater resilience and reducing vulnerability to climate change.
SNV at COP27
We are particularly pleased that this year we will be co-hosting the new Food Systems Pavilion at the event, focusing on actions and strategies to deliver sustainable food systems. See this recent news article to learn more about SNV and the Food Systems Pavilion.
We are also a core partner in the Water Pavilion and a supporter of the AWARE (Action for Water Adaptation and Resilience) initiative. With our partners, we will amplify the message that water is foundational for all climate adaptation actions and responses.
In addition, SNV will be leading an official UNFCCC side event with our partners Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership (REEEP) and WWF entitled 'Accelerating effective local climate adaptation in energy and food systems.'
In this session, policymakers, donors, investors and NGOs will share examples of best practices and from cross-sectoral, scalable and localised approaches in Africa. Click here to see a synopsis.

SNV's message for COP27
The climate crisis impacts the world's most vulnerable people, and climate action needs to be implemented without delay.
During the event, SNV will emphasise the need to accelerate the implementation of climate action for the world's most vulnerable people disproportionately affected by the climate crisis.
Local, cross-sectoral approaches, partnerships, and innovative finance are needed to ensure that climate adaptation and mitigation measures can scale - resulting in sustainable systems change.
