New CLTS manuals for trainers and facilitators in Laos unveiled

Two new manuals for Community-Led Total Sanitation (CLTS) in Laos have been unveiled last week. The National Community-Led Total Sanitation Manual for Facilitators in Laos was designed for CLTS facilitators in the field and the National Trainer’s Guide for Training Facilitators on Community-Led Total Sanitation in Laos for trainers of facilitators.

The National Community-Led Total Sanitation Manual for Facilitators in Laos was designed for CLTS facilitators in the field and the National Trainer’s Guide for Training Facilitators on Community-Led Total Sanitation in Laos for trainers of facilitators. Both are ready for use and to will help to scale up rural sanitation and hygiene in Laos.

SNV, WSP, Plan International, UNICEF, PADETC and Nam Saat joined hands and started to work on these books in September 2012. They will be distributed to the health offices in all provinces. Also, they will play crucial part in the roadmap to train more CLTS master trainers by the end of 2015. The final assessment round of the new CLTS master trainers will be held on from 17 to 20 June 2014, when 14 new trainers will be certified as master trainers in Laos.
