Solar suppliers and MFIs offer nationwide microloans

Only three months after dedicated low-interest solar microloans have been made available to rural households in selected provinces, solar suppliers and MFI partners collaborating under the AFD/EU-funded Solar Microfinance Program have now made ambitious plans to make solar loans available nationwide.

Solar suppliers and MFI partners are building on good initial partnership dynamics to make solar loans available in 10 new provinces in the coming months, inspired by the good reception of these loans among rural customers. The Solar Microfinance Program is now well on track to achieve nationwide operations in the coming months.

In the coming weeks, additional partnership building activities and training events will be held at district levels in the new geographical areas to help rural solar sales agents and MFI Credit Officers to meet, form action plans for their collaboration, and discuss work procedures for client management.

The Solar Microfinance Program is funded by the French Development Agency AFD and the European Union.
