SNV to join the debate at the upcoming SEforALL Forum in Lisbon
SNV is delighted to participate in the upcoming SEforALL Forum 2018 which will take place 2-3 May in Lisbon to discuss the next stage on the road to reaching Sustainable Development Goal 7 (SDG7).
The event will be take place during the SDG7 review process which cumulates in the High Level Political Forum (HLPF 2018) to be held in New York in July.
About the conference
About 750 leaders from government, business, civil society and international organizations will gather for the 4th Sustainable Energy for All Forum.
The 2018 conference will focus on closing the energy gaps especially for ‘last mile’ populations, who are missing out on education, health, jobs and broader economic opportunities because they do not have access to clean, affordable energy
The agenda for this year will focus on sharing the latest evidence of scalable innovations in providing electricity access, accelerating renewable energy and improving energy efficiency in all corners of the world.

Last Mile First: Maximizing The Impacts Of Energy Access On The SDGS - May 2, 16:00 -17:30.
Dr Rianne Teule will take part in a partner working session entitled “The last Mile First”. This interactive session will explore the market activation and provision of energy services for productive and community uses to enable resilient and inclusive local development.
Other organizations participating in this session include IIED, ODI, Cafod and ACCESS.
Clean Cooking Fuels for All: Moving Beyond the Improved Stove - May 2, 14:30 to 16:00
Governments in Africa, Asia and Latin America recognize the need to move away from traditional cooking based on biomass and to massively scale up adoption of affordable, healthier and more environmentally friendly cooking systems to support the clean cooking goal of SDG7. In this session, SNV and Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves, the Global LPG Partnership, Hivos Foundation and other stakeholders will look to identify areas where support still required at international and national levels in order to catalyse safe, effective, sustainable cooking models.
Catalysing Decentralised RE Markets - May 3, 11:45-13:00.
SNV CEO Meike van Ginnegan will speak at high level deep dive session on Catalysing Decentralised Renewable Energy Markets. The session will focus on the huge opportunities from burgeoning decentralised energy solutions and what is needed to turn millions of customers into billions of customers.
